The 20s
- The Jules and Caroline BERNARD's childreen worked at the family business : Eugène (1902-1967), Adrien (1906-1971), Louise (1908-1991), Charles (1909-1993); Aline (1913-1930) had died too young.
The company had prospered, a workshop started up in Thiais (Val-de-Marne), another one in Paris, rue de Clery.

The 30s - On Adrien BERNARD's influence, besides collection wardrobe-trunks and commercial taveller's luggage, the company launched a car trunk line. Jules BERNARD registered the trademark  La Malle Bernard ®.

1944Jules and Caroline BERNARD retired. They gave the family business to their soons Adrien and Charles. Eugéne had bought in 1932 a leather goods shop in Paris, rue Lafayette. Louise had stopped working since she got married.

1946 - The two brothers went their separate ways. Charles BERNARD kept the family workshop in Paris, 111 rue d'aboukir, and the trademark La Malle Bernard ®.
Adrien BERNARD, bought Ets Quesnel, a fibreboard case workshop in Paris, 40 rue des Jeuneurs.
